My love/hate relationship with Left 4 Dead has officially begun.  While I love the game, see review here, it makes me not want to get a damn thing done.  I'm falling asleep as I type this so hopefully it doesn't fail as hard as the folks in tonight's video.

The news today that the CGS has folded was neither sad nor unexpected for some, but I for one am sorry to see it go.  There were good intentions behind that venture, and it had the potential to boost eSports into the mainstream in a big way, but there seem to have been too many hurdles and too many mistakes along the way.  Topping the list of faults from the gaming community's point of view was that CGS was changing too many of the rules, splitting up teams, and embracing a showbiz-type style in a way that turned many hardcore fans off.  In the farewell letter on their homepage, the "CGS team" did leave us a bit of hope for the future of gaming in broadcast media: "BSkyB, STAR, and DIRECTV continue to be committed to the video games sector, which is an important part of many of our customers' lives and a great source of entertainment."  It's still pretty obvious that parent company and media giant NewsCorp pulled the plug on that one, though.…

I have always loved the Castlevania franchise.  The first game on the NES was one of the first games I bought myself and even though I could never beat the Grim Reaper I still got a kick out of it.  Symphony of Night is not only a stellar Castlevania title but one of the best games ever period.

I knew I was going to like Left 4 Dead from the first time I heard about the game. The demo confirmed my expectations and finally, last night: the release of the game completely blew them away. There is a new UFC heavyweight champion as of this last weekend after Brock Lesnar, former NCAA champion and pro wrestler, beat Randy Couture in round 2 at UFC 91.  The good news is, he is already "in the game".

StarCraft II is definitely evolving to be even more intense than the original StarCraft, with the increased mobility of units with cliff traversing abilities, as well as new transport abilities.
